Constructivist Learning

In the video, there were many constructivist teaching/learning techniques that were demonstrated.
1. Small groups- this creates a positive social environment in the classroom. This will ensure that the students will feel comfortable around their peers and be motivated to ask and answer questions.

2. Using hands-on exploration- This will allow the students to investigate on their own. By creating and testing their own hypotheses, the students will learn to to revise and refine their own ways of thinking.

3. The teacher’s role- Let the students express their ideas and lead the experiment.

4. Listen to others and how they reason their answer.

5. Teachers need to understand the process in which students learn by learning with them.

I will need to consider the diverse needs of each learner. By making a lot of my lessons learner-centers, my students will be able to think at a higher level.
